Focsle is a comfortable home from home with a glorious view of Porthmeor Beach. We’ve been visiting St Ives for over 30 years, and this holiday home is my favourite by far. Gas central heating throughout, external shower, beach cupboard with beach equipment available, WiFi, short breaks available.
- Harley Young enjoys a Saturday afternoon feast at the newly refurbished neighbourhood pub
- So, if you’re in a shirt, sweater and jacket, your baby might need a vest, sleepsuit, jumper and coat (plus hat and gloves as needed).
- Lovely apartment with fantastic views over Porthmeor beach from the lounge.
- Take time to look at the artwork that is on display at this property.
- ‘Microadventure’ (or, worse, #microadventure) is nothing more than a cute bit of branding for “go camping, go ride your bike, go do stuff!

Other brands have used the idea too, without involving me – Berghaus and The North Face, to mention two. Some people do not like that and feel I have “sold out” (read “Madoc’s” rant against me in the comments here). It ended up making me money too – a nice and surprising bonus – through my Microadventures book, increased speaking work, and through working with brands on films like this. It has been so gratifying to see the idea spread. I am amazed Cutebit by the growth of microadventures. With microadventures I wanted everyone to feel involved.

We have have had at least two sword-snapping degradation ceremonies this week, but the Japanese animation Namakura Gatana (11917) featured a cute “bit” in which our hero fails to sheath his blade. It was specially nice to have a large range of beach equipment to use. The view from this beautiful characterful house cannot be beaten! A really comfortable, spacious cottage, gorgeously close to the beach and a gentle stroll away from the town.

- The dining table is the perfect place for everyone to gather to enjoy time together.
- There is a posse to hunt the bandit down, a little bit of shooting and a riveting poker game between Minnie and the sheriff in which the bandit’s life and her virtue are at stake.
- So for four days we hired a jeep and got out to explore the island in more detail.
- St Ives and in particular Porthmeor Beach are for us the ideal holiday location, which is probably why we have now been holidaying annually here for the last 19 years.
- If there is too much padding between your baby and their car seat straps, the seat will not be as safe.
- Witness, for example, Holiday Inn UK advertising a weekend break in a city hotel, complete with cafés, bars and restaurants, as a microadventure.
- The cupboard with all the beach stuff in was great (you can use the ladders to get from the gate down to the beach which was about a 5ft drop!).
Lovely apartment with fantastic views over Porthmeor beach from the lounge. Great location with wonderful view of the beach and sea. Please bear in mind that some facilities referred to by past guests in reviews can be removed or changed at any time. The array of restaurants, delis and artisan shops are all just a short walk from the property making it the perfect base to explore all the wonders St Ives has to offer.

Having stayed at various apartments along Porthmeor I can say it’s probably the best. Porthmeor is a surfer’s paradise, ideal for beginners to advanced alike. We’re already looking forward to our next stay! You can’t get much closer to the beach than this! The Juliet Balcony of Focsle is just above the beach. Bedroom 2 has comfortable twin beds.
We had a BBQ on the beach one evening which was bliss. We loved getting our groceries from Norway Stores which was 3 minutes walk. It was nice and clean on arrival. A comfortable and well equipped cottage. It only takes a couple of minutes but improves the view considerably. Great place right on Porthmeor beach.

Clock House Station is also within easy walking distance and features a growing parade of local shops, including a popular coffee shop. Birkbeck Station is just 160 yards away, with trains and a tram service connecting to Beckenham Junction and East Croydon (ideal for Gatwick Express connections). There’s definitely scope here to extend on the ground floor, and the end of the garden is an ideal spot for a home office or garden studio; you can do both these things without hugely compromising on the size of the garden.
